Ryerson’s Sylvia Xiaoying Ma wins North American Print Skills contest
CALIFORNIA—
It was only last week that Ryerson University’s Sylvia Xiaoying Ma was announced as one of two finalists in the North American Print Skills contest. On July 8, she was named the winner.
The final round of competition took place at California Polytechnic State University, during the International Circle Conference. American finalist Sunny Turner, of Appalachian State University, competed with Ma over the Internet in front of the conference on jumbo screens, so attendees could follow along.
The students were tasked with solving four sets of print problems within 10 minutes. The winner needed to have the best quality with the lowest cost production and least waste.
The Final score was Turner: 1, Ma: 3.
Congratulations to Ryerson’s Sylvia Xiaoying Ma!
